The history
In 1923 founder Shinjiro Torii was the first distillery in Japan to start the success story of Japanese whiskey with the construction of the Yamazaki distillery. The oldest distillery in Japan is located north of Osaka on the outskirts of the former capital Kyoto. Reasons for choosing the location were not only the high water quality but also the special climate.
Today, the Yamazaki distillery offers a wide range of whiskeys. The mild Japanese Yamazaki whiskeys are available internationally and are enjoying increasing popularity.
