The history
In 1999, Bernard and Rosemary Walsh founded Hot Irishman Ltd. To create and fill the perfect Irish Coffee. In 2001, the family moved to Urglin Glebe, a 200-year-old regency, where the head office of Hot Irishman Ltd was for the next 10 years. 2005 The Irishman - Irish Cream was created. This was not only made to compete with the big Irish Cream producers, but also to recreate the original recipe, which consists of only the best ingredients of Ireland. The company's best turning point came in 2006, when they signed a long-term supply agreement with distilleries. Hereby, Bernard and Rosemary joined the whiskey industry in Ireland. So you introduced Walsh's invention of the Irishman whiskey in 2007 and a year later the Cask Strength bottling. Jim Murray described the Irishman Whiskey in his whiskey book as "Quite a Wonderful Blend" and awarded him 93 points. In 2009, the creation of the Writers Tears whiskey was a bold move. As he moved outside the Irish whiskey category, which traditionally proved to be a little more nuanced on open Irish brand cues. This step was a complete success. It was made after a unique old Irish pot still whiskey recipe, a Vatting of Single Malt (60%), Single Pot Still (40%) Whiskey (no grain). Writers Tears is one of the highly acclaimed Irish whiskeys in Jim Murray's whiskey book and among the "101 Whiskeys to Try Before You Die" by Ian Buxton's.
