The history
Members of the Teeling family were able to fill a first barrel with new make from their Dublin distillery Telling on March 27, 2015. In 1782, 233 years earlier, one of their ancestors, Walter Teeling, opened a small distillery in a district of Dublin, on Marrowbone Lane in The Liberties. In the middle of the 18th century, there were several, differently sized distilleries in "The Libeties", a well-known district of Dublin. Numerous closures at distilleries in Dublin, was finally only by the opening of the Teeling distillery, there is again a whiskey producer in Dublin.
John J. Teeling founded in 1987 as a second member of the family a distillery. For this he bought a liquor factory with a few investors on the Cooley Peninsula. The company was named Cooley Distillery plc, and the distillery was named Colley. Shortly thereafter, the company also bought the Old Kilbeggan Distillery.

The production
Unmalted barley gets the distillery directly from farmers and malt is bought at malting plants. In the so-called pot-still method 50/50 is mixed with malted and unmalted barley. Until further notice, the Teeling Distillery produces only typical Irish whiskeys.
The storage
The storage takes place in the large warehouse, near the distillery Cooley in Muchgrange. These are mainly used ex-bourbon barrels, but also ex-sherry and various wine barrels.
