Heaven Hill Distilleries Inc. is America's largest independent proprietary family-run liquor manufacturer and marketer. The company was founded in 1934, immediately after the end of Prohibition in the US, by the five Shapira brothers in Bardstown, Kentucky. Heaven Hill quickly became one of the country's largest whiskey producers. Already in 1961 the "filling" of the 1 millionth whiskey barrel was celebrated. Today, more than 1,000,000 barrels are maturing in the warehouses of Heaven Hill, the second most stocks of Kentucky Whiskey worldwide.
Since its inception, Heaven Hill has been run by the Shapira family with a sure hand. Of the five founding brothers, responsibility went to Max and Harry Shapira, who helped drive the company's diversification. Meanwhile, the third generation is already involved in the management of the family business. Including the children of Max, Andy and his sister Kate and her husband Allan Latts.
Heaven Hill Whiskey style is dominated by the Master Distillers Parker and Craig Beam. They come from a family with a great whiskey tradition and are already in the 6th and 7th generation Master Distiller. With their experience and passion for experiment, Heaven Hill is the only whiskey manufacturer able to produce any American whiskey style. Under the title "The American Whiskey Collection" Single Barrel, Small Batch and "Bottled-in-Bond" bottlings as well as, Rye, Corn and Wheat Whiskeys are marketed.
