Anyone who appreciates quality and enjoys a noble drop sometimes will love the Alte Willams-Christ-Birne from Feinbrennerei Prinz in Hörbranz. It is characterized by its special mildness, the full aroma of ripe Williams pears and a fine fruit sweetness.
The taste of the sun-ripened pears is preserved by keeping the temperature as low as possible during the distillation process. Only the heart of the double distilling process, the so-called middle course, is used for the production of the Old Williams-Christ pear. The subsequent double storage makes this noble fruit schnapps so unique.
To take the freshly distilled schnapps its sharpness, it is stored after the firing process for many months in the so-called "Hafele" (earthenware vessels). By exchanging air through the micropores in the stoneware, undesirable flavors are filtered out. On the other hand, important flavors and aromas may develop. The "finishing" is followed by storage in wooden barrels, this not only gives the liquor its beautiful golden color, the fruit flavors of the Williams pear are highlighted even more.
