Port Messias Vintage 1967 Port

Today Messias is one of the most important producers of wine in Portugal, which since its inception in 1926 has been a major factor in the wine culture of Portugal. Messias is still in possession of descendants of the founding family. In addition to Port Wine the vineyard Messias also produces very successful Bairrada, Douro, Vinho Verde and Beiras. Additionally since 2001 wine from the peninsula Setúbal has been distributed. With the excellent vinyards, the constantly improved technologies on the basis of the wine making and the highest quality claims from Messias, it is also not surprising that year after year numerous awards are won. And also the foreign market has long recognized the outstanding quality of its products. 65% of the production is already exported to five continents.

- Vintage Port: The king among the Ports. It is a rare and extremely high-quality Port of the top class. Only outstanding vintages get the quality characteristic "Vintage" and are reported to the Portweininstitut. Each house carries out its own tests and decides for itself. As soon as a vintage has been declared a vintage, it is bottled for the further maturation process, which lasts for many years, if not decades. There is a depot in each bottle, which the wine needs for its further development. Vintage Port is matured at the earliest after 10 to 12 years, should be decantated before drinking and preferably be drunk within 24 hours.
