"Herman Jansen" is a company founded in 1777 in the Dutch town of Schiedam, which has since been producing spirits. Originally opened as a genever distillery, "Herman Jansen" today offers a very broad and modern assortment of various spirits.
Jacobus Alfons, nicknamed Bobby, loved Dutch genever, but missed the taste of his country of origin Indonesia. So in the 1950s he began to refine Genever with Indonesian spices. In 2012, his grandson Sebastiaan discovered one of his bottles of jenever and, inspired by the story of his grandfather, set off for Schiedam to meet the master distiller of "Herman Jansen". Together they created a unique gin with the best Indonesian botanicals: "Bobby's Schiedam Dry Gin".
