The history
The Welsh Whiskey Company was founded in 1998. At the end of the 18th century, there was a successful distillery in North Wales. But when the owner died suddenly, he took his recipe for success to the grave. Thus, no whiskey was produced in Wales for 100 years. In 2000, the Penderyn distillery produced their first whiskey.
Prince Charles of Wales, Prince Charles, was present on May 1st, 2004, when the first Penderyn whiskey was presented to the public.

The production
Since an extensive expansion and capacity increase in 2013/2014, the Penderyn distillery has its own mash tun. Previously, the already fermented mash was delivered by the Brains Brewery.
